Ocean City New Jersey Jobs

There are only two metro areas in America that have experienced a decline in employment of more than 20% in the last five years. The Watertown area of northern New York has lost nearly 6,800 jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), and the subway lost more jobs than any other area of the US between 2010 and 2015.

Most of these jobs were lost when events that serve as the economic engine for the region, such as the New York World's Fair, were cancelled or postponed, affecting hotels, restaurants, and more. Some of the more temporary job losses became permanent as Americans changed careers because of pandemics.

In the five years since, job growth in Ocean City, New Jersey, has all but ground to a halt. Employment fell by 955,000, with leisure and hospitality sectors cutting the most jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Of the cities that experienced the largest drop in employment across the country, about a third were in the Rust Belt. As in the rest of the country, the leisure and hospitality sectors contributed the most to job losses in New York City, New Jersey and Santa Fe, N.M. At that time, job losses were reported in all the work areas for which data is available, including construction, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, transportation, warehousing, retail and wholesale. Leisure and hospitality sectors were the hardest hit, while the region's labour market has lost more than 1,000 manufacturing jobs and 1.5 million retail jobs over the past five years.

Goldsboro, North Carolina, has had a relatively low unemployment rate over the past five years, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Ocean City Tabernacle Association is building a more modern facility to accommodate the thousands of people who attend the nondenominational services each summer. According to the organization's website, there are more than 1,000 members of the Ocean County Tabernacle Association.
