Gillian's Wonderland Pier, owned by Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian, offers plenty of rides for young children and thrilling seekers of all ages.
The closest airport to Ocean City is Atlantic City, which is considered quite small but is the only real city down there. Nevertheless, it is a large island, so you can go almost anywhere by bike, and there are many bike shops, restaurants, bars, shops and restaurants in the city.
The coastal towns down there have some similarities, but they look and feel different. Ocean City has a fairly wide beach, although the further south you drive with higher-elevation, numbered roads, the wider the beach.
Unlike other cities where chain restaurants dominate the family restaurant scene, Ocean City houses a number of its privately owned restaurants that have become city institutions. The place may be a little bare inside, but it has a wide selection of fresh seafood, great service and great food. It's good on my radar as where I'm # ve had some of my best seafood meals this year somewhere along the coast.
Directly west of Ocean City is a small town with about 1,000 inhabitants in the Delaware River Valley. This coastal town is dry, which means that alcoholic beverages cannot be sold within the city limits.
The Oves Restaurant's cider doughnuts are made with maple syrup, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla and a touch of cinnamon. The Seacrets in Jamaica, USA, serves a variety of hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches, burgers, salads and more. Ocean City, Maryland, is home to some of the world's most popular gay bars and restaurants, but the fast-paced things you get are only available in the city limits, not in other parts of New Jersey.
Besides the beach and promenade there are other things to do, but in beach weather you should not plan with it. You can see as far as Atlantic City, forget everything and find yourself on the other side of the Delaware River, just a few miles away. Wonderland has the largest Ferris wheel, and Polish water ice is better than any other, so you can get in and out.
